Jakarta – Prime Minister or President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sánchez congratulated the presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto who won in the 2024 presidential election.
He conveyed this congratulations through an official letter with the header El Presidente Del Goboerno dated February 27, 2024. The letter was delivered directly by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Francisco de Asis Aguilera Aranda, to the Ministry of Defense office on Friday (15/3).
“I would like to congratulate Your Excellency on the victory in the presidential election on February 14,” Pedro said to Prabowo in his letter.
The people of Indonesia have clearly shown their trust in the leadership and programs offered to successfully face the next five years,” he continued.
Pedro also expressed his confidence in the experience and good performance of Prabowo to lead Indonesia in the future.
“I believe that Your Excellency’s experience and good performance in his policies will allow the people of Indonesia to achieve a better level of welfare during his tenure,” Pedro said.
He also revealed that Spain and Indonesia have successfully developed an extraordinary relationship, both bilaterally as well as in multilateral forums attended by both countries, especially in the G-20.
That relationship, said Pedro, is based on common principles and values, which fundamentally uphold international peace and security, and respect for international law in supporting the United Nations system and cooperation to address climate emergencies.
“Spain will continue to work to strengthen its relationship with Indonesia. I take this opportunity to express my highest appreciation to the elected President,” he said.
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude for Pedro’s congratulations. He revealed this in his personal Instagram post @prabowo on Friday.
“It is an honor to receive congratulations from the President of the Government of Spain, Your Excellency Pedro Sánchez,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo said that the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Spain will continue to be enhanced through strategic partnerships in the fields of economy, defense, and culture as well as the deep friendship that has been firmly established.
