President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia received a warm welcome from Indonesian citizens upon his arrival in New Delhi, India. Nadine Ardiani Chairunisa, an Indonesian student studying Marketing Communication at Amity University, eagerly awaited his arrival since 5pm, along with fellow student Demas Fadel Anggara. Despite some delays, the experience was described as exciting and nerve-wracking. Other Indonesians present, including Rajendra, Marvell, and Adyatama, expressed gratitude for Prabowo’s personal gesture of shaking hands with them. They shared hopes for a successful working visit in India and a brighter future under Prabowo’s leadership.
Prabowo’s visit to India not only symbolizes a new chapter in bilateral relations but also commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India. Before leaving Jakarta, Prabowo expressed pride in being invited as the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, considering it a great honor for Indonesia. He emphasized the participation of Indonesian TNI troops in the event, highlighting the strong ties between the two countries. The visit also includes planned meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss enhancing cooperation on various strategic issues.
